Pulled Groin
Pulled it sprinting... it doesn't hurt that bad- as in its on-and-off throughout the day (when I walk). It was kinda ok for the past 2 weeks once I was warmed up, so I kept playing on it hoping it would go away. 2 hours of sprints later, it was definitely pulled.
My doctor gave me an estimate of 6 weeks for full recovery. I can't possibly be out for 6 weeks - my senior lacrosse season will be almost over in 6 weeks. So I have to come back sooner. What am I risking? Permanent tear? Is there anything besides advil (600mg 2x/day) and ice (3-4 times daily) and gentle stretching that will help it heal? Rollers?
What can I do to stay in cardiovascular shape? Spin bike seemed mostly ok... Can i do ab exercises? Swimming? I'm really willing to do anything (and I've got shitloads of time) to make this better faster.
Any help would be much appreciated.

if the injury is more than a week old(after the last re-injury) go ahead and do some moist heat packs/warm bath/hot tub and gentle stretching.
6 weeks sounds a bit long to me, chances are you'll be back before then. Ask your athletic trainer to wrap you hip and groin.

Vin,
Going back on Monday, and I was wondering how exactly one would wrap the hip/groin except for just going around the upper thigh with an ace bandage, as we don't have an athletic trainer. Thanks

It would look kind of like this, but with an ace wrap instead of the neoprene thingy

I don't really have any advice to offer, but I've strained/pulled my groin what seems like a 1000 times playing hockey & football. The problem is that it takes so long to heal; you start feeling better and then you hurt it again. Even now if I don't stretch it properly, I'll feel fine during my hockey game, and by the time I get home I'll barely be able to walk.
Heal up quickly.

I would take er easy for a bit. Swimming would help you, that is very low impact and depending on your technique, you don't use your legs that much anyway. Its also not much of a strain on that area, just no breast stroke...No offense, but I lol'd when I saw this at first... this place is so packed with gruesome injurys... "I dislocated my knee, broke my femur, tore this..." and then my groin hurts... I thought it was funny anyway...
