AB mags: dive open at SSV?

L7, mntlion, etc...

Anybody know if the dive is open tomorrow? A few of us are heading out for somewhere but there is no point in going there unless it is open (IMO).

That's the problem, you won't know until you get up there since it all depends on snow/wind/visibility. Patrol makes the call each morning as to if/when it opens, and can also shut it down partway through the day if conditions change.

Phone the Sunshine freeride hotline and see if it was open today. (403-762-6511) If it was and it doesn't snow or blow too much tonight, it will probably be open tomorrow. (Unless it is a whiteout, then it will probably be closed.)

This is why LL is so much easier. I love The Dive but HATE when I go to Sunshine and The Dive doesn't open. :cussing:

I am with you on just going to LL. I also want to try some of the smaller lines that people were doing in the big mtn comp. I figure that there is enough snow that I shouldn't get *too* injured. Either wy, it is shaping up to be a great day since they are calling for 5-10 overnight and more all through the day.

The patrol has done a great job of opening it up all the time this year. I've skied in there in a few whiteouts this year, huge props to patrol for doing a great job maintaining it.

dive was open yesterday and so was the west. was at the lake today, either the snow settled a lot overnight or the shine got more ... both where nice and good vis too. bonus..


I'll be SSV Fri, ?? sat and SSV sunday.
