Naxo Failure ????

I have the Naxo 01 and in walk mode, I've noticed there is quite a bit of play laterally. I think either the virtual pivot point pins/screws are coming loose or the enitre screw housing is getting stripped. I would just tighten up the screws but the good people at Naxo have decided to use some screw type that neither myself, or my leatherman know how to deal with. It's hard to describe but those with the NX01s will know what I'm talking about. Anyone here have a similar problem and know what tool I need to tighten down the screws? Thanks.

Do you need a posi-drive (fat-phillips head)? It has been a while since I had them so I can't quite remember. I was happy to break/replace them though.

I don't think so because it's only got two groves. I would use a beefy flathead except the middle scew portion is protruded out so that the flathead won't fit in. Ideally, I would have a beefy flathead with a notch cut out in the middle.

You might be right about the pivot points being rivots.

The lateral play in climb mode is bad enough that if I want to, I can step down to the side and miss the heel lifter all together. They feel ready to go. In ski mode they've always been sloppy but I've learned to get used to it.

Have you done the rail stiffening mod?

Those aren't rivets; they're definitely screws. I've seen stuff like that on specialty applications where they don't want you fucking with the item in question. Sometimes it's because they want you to buy a special tool, or other times it has to do with a funky design. Bummer on the flathead. It's looking like you'll have to call BCA for a repair/replacement or for the special tool.

Edit: The "screws" that hold the dashboard knobs onto old Jeep CJs are similar to those.

If anyone is interested, those screws that were coming loose are rivets and cannot be tightened. I called BC Access and sense the binding can be seperated where the metal bar meets the toe piece, they are just going to send me new toe pieces. I also had the option to upgrade to the NX21s but it costs $160.

I have been very pleased with the warranty service at BC Access. This is the third pair of Naxo's that they've sent me (with no questions asked) and I also recently had a Tracker I'd been using for five years replaced for free.
