I read this in my paper yesterday.
So, if a cop says stop and you don't do they chase you on skis.....that would be funny! Hope they have skills!

Rode the lift with a deputy last year, they get free lift tickets- as long as they agree to respond to any calls or incidents in the mountain. The Sheriff's Deputy was packing heat, but was not sporting a badge. There is a sewn on badge on their chest, but it is covered by a flap with some velcro.
The Teton County's Sheriff's Department has signature teal green and black jackets. Teal on the chest and shoulders and black elsewhere.
They usually show up in droves when there is a death on the mountain, then it tapers off until something else happens.
We saw Eagle County Sherriffs and Forest Service police with dogs on the mountain on closing day last year. I didn't linger too long to find out what they were doing due to the contents of my jacket.:biggrin:Quote:

BB&B is no more. Kind of unfortunate if you ask me. In a way I can understand why they put a stop to it. However, I am glad I was able to experience the last two they had. It was hands down the best party experience(s) of my life.
I guess I can see why it ended as well. My last time was in 96. Words can not explain, but the pictures are too funny. Damn COPS. LOL!Quote:

There are cops on most slopes, this is nothing new and I heard that the sheriff at alta wins some annual race every year so there is no hope in trying to run from him. The dude that told me this said he use to walk through alta's employee housing and tell them not to smoke in their rooms or on chairs and just go into the woods. At least he was cool about that.
As for BB&B, I know that it is no more but just ski by the old hangouts like minnie's deck and the others in the spring and you're sure to find people that haven't gotten the memo.
I skied with the Alta marshall and his wife last year. They were both good skiers and very nice. But I refrained from sparking up on the chair with them.
I went to 3 BB&B's....good time but I am not sure I'd glorify it as much as some above. Year 2 I saw a kid wack a tree while sliding on a saucer. Not pretty.
