NSR - Command start not working

This model of command start came with my Cherokee when I bought it:

It was working up until a little while ago, and now when I try to use the command start I get an Error #1 message (the lights flash 3 times, then a pause, then they flash once). According to the online manual (no hard copy came with the car) this error is saying that "the engine is on," even though it isn't.

Anyone have ideas on how to fix this so I don't have to drag my lazy ass down to a store? I just got my oil changed, so I don't know if something got messed then or what.
