Science Fair TR - with pic! (kidstoke)
Just got back from my kid's science fair. She did a project about How Avalanches Work. Was pretty rad; she made a slope out of a cardboard box, half of the slope had a "strong" layer of snow (glue sprinkled with sea salt), the other half was just painted & smooth.
Sprinkle flour on, add some angle, a trigger, half the slope slides, the other half does not.
Pretty rad, proud dad. She was not terribly amped about it at first, but once she saw some pictures, she googled away and found pictures of rounded crystals, printed out the deaths-stats for this season (morbid kid!), etc.
Pic attached. Hope she stays into the ski thing;). Mad chucky-steeze, bragh.
Iain (she's 7, 8 in March, and her favorite school is the Alta Ski School - priorities at a young age;)
