Problem: bended edge and delamination

I'm having some problems with a pair of skis I bought second hand (Black Diamond Crossbows). The problem being that on one side, the edge seems to be broken and is bended out of the ski. On top of that there is a part (let's say 2 cm²) of the top layer that has been lost (it's only the top mayer, so I don't think it exposes the core).

Could anyone let me know what I should do to fix this. Is a bit opf epoxy good to fix the lost toplayer?

That doesn´t look that bad. It´s fixable.

The top layer is your smallest problem. It seems to be a cosmetical issue only. Just add epoxy and let it cure.

The edge repair is harder, but it´s far from a RIP damage. First try to clamp everything into place. It can be a bit tricky on a cap ski like yours and its good to try out how to do it before you start mixing the glue. Clamps, steel plates, pieces of wood and tape is good to have as tools. Plastic film (don´t know the english word, but plastic for wrapping food) is also pratical to have around later as the epoxy doesn´t stick to it when hardened.

Open the damage up a bit with a knife or a screw driver to ensure that the material is as clean as possible and that glue can get inside.

Add slow curing epoxy and heat the whole thing up to around 70-75 deg celsius. Keep it warm for a while to allow the epoxy to stay fluid. Make sure to keep the ski in a angle where the epoxy goes into the ski. Move parts around a bit with the knife to make sure that the epoxy flows into the damage. Also fill up the delamination with glue. As long as the epoxy is warm it will easily penetrate delamination, even really small ones. When youre satisfied clamp everything down as you tried it before. Double check that everything is in the right place and leave it overnight.

Grind everything down so it looks nice. Service the skis. Ski and hope that you don´t hit the same spot again...
