Sounds like there may be a few of us up there. I know Dr. Crash was planning to be there, and I believe joshbu.
Don't think we'll be looking at much new snow, but should be clear and cold.

Yup. Trying to get a hold of the good dr now for getting the rides set up...
I've been in Michigan, so I've lost track of what's happening with the snow, though it looks like yesterday was good at Baker...
I was up at Alpental today, so a quick report.
Just about everythiing in-bounds is hammered. Entrance to Nash is extremely rocky even with the new snow, and the main gut is a bump field except for far right and far left. Skier's left of Adrenaline over the little waterfall cliff is nice right now; really punchy soft-pack. Short in-bounds hikes could yield nice freshies, as the temps have remained low. Think above Hill 33, and far skier's right of Debbie's. Shot 8 is looking seriously prime. I can't remember a December looking this good up there in a while.
The BC is open at all three entrances, and not yet tracked out. Bring your gear and do a few tours. Didn't get a chance to see Great Scott, but there were only a few tracks heading up Pineapple.
I should be up there Wednesday and Thursday if anyone else is in.
I was up on Pineapple this morning shooting cliff drops. and several other places. We've been all over the BC and pretty much nothing but for two solid days. More face shots than you can shake a stick at. You mighta seen me clicking scenics at the top for a hour. in a red Helly Hansen and looking cold!
I'll be there Wed and Th also I hope. Red HH if a photo day, Gold NF jacket otherwise. Old K2 Kreitlers, the G4's are too much for this old man at Alpy! We need to meet, schmear! I like your website..me, I'm just returning to ski shooting after a five yr hiatus.
I shot a few with the little digital Canon, then put them on my laptop in the parking lot. I think the cold weather messed something up, as I lost some good action shots of Brad dropping a 40 footer and of skiing a 50 degree rib. Gone off the compact flash card too. Bummer.
Nice Rainier shot! I'd love to hook up. I'll post here again if I head up. Attire TBD.
whoa....that's a sweeeet shot.
Ty, you gotta get up here some time. You'd get a kick out of Alpental. Besides, I owe you for that Kirkwood tour....or was the halibut payback enough?
Hey....just found this website: www.alpental.comQuote:

With such a difficult web URL, I thought you might never heard of it ;) There's a TON of pics and info. regarding Alpental BC......the entire site is a damn maze of photos, pretty cool.
I'll be at the bottom of Armstrong @ 9am tomorrow. Shooting shooting some cliff drops with a few of the guys out there, heading out the gate as soon as we get there. In bounds is hammered. Stuff at the end of Great Scott was skied but not hammered by the end of the day. Still lots of good stuff to be had, but either fairly far out there, or in stashes. Anything north of Rocksaw was hammered.
I'll be the midget with a silver giro, green jacket, beige pants and either big stix 106's or silver 1080's. give a midget a yell if you see me.
Shot 8 had a few tracks yesterday, and got a couple more today, it appeared.
58 degree crux, mellowing to 45 after 300-500 vert. I did in back in 99, maybe the steepest line I've done, including Valdez, Red Mt OB, CB, Whitewater's Ymir peak....
Hey, i somehow found the mysterious missing pics.
Here's Brad dropping the small side of the cliff just above Piss Pass. We'll do the 60-80 foot big side soon!

And this nice flute, which I overexposed.
I got a little catching up to do on Steven, Chase, Grant, Carl, etc. But that can be done, lol...Been around the block a bit, just mighty busy for a few years with my other business, trees. Lately too, but the skiin is goin' off, and my desire is rekindled, in me old age....Hope it snows, as i need to drop a 30+ footer to keep in practice for my goal to do the same in 16 yrs, when I hit my 7th decade.
NIIIIICE Fuggin Pics I'm now so stoked. I cant wait to get my frist turns in over the new year
Any of yous guys gonna be up at ALPY? on new years??
Look Ma no goggles:D
A skin track was in part way up Chair....
Hey Midget,
that was I you i ran into each of the last two days right? with the EOS 1...
Here's the shot of Shot 8 I forgot to post when i got excited as I'd found the missing shots.
Color!!!!
The pencil couloir about 1.5 inches in on the image is "Kevorkian", which was done by some one plankers back in 99, I hear. Looks like it rolls over to near vertical. The line to its left looks more double, tho. Only partially showing in the pic...
Nice pics, guys. I'll be in-bounds, my sister isn't interested in doing BC (yet). I've been waiting for someone to show me that BC, though. You guys another time?
I need to find some not-too-tracked shit inbounds tomorrow, I had her demo some Inspired and promised her we'd find some pow. Any leads?
I'll be (from bottom to top) G4 / black instructor pants (w/ the yellow/blue stuff) / red hiking top / gray Giro 9, with my sis having Inspired / black pants / orange top.

Crash, I didn't look at it, but even tho it is close in, Shot 6 sometimes has some fresh left. It can get delicate tho.
Another sweet pic. Thanks :D
What about the delicate part of Shot 6? I skied it once and it was butter. And I've not been to any of those other Shot X but hey I'm new here.
In addition to Shot 6, I was thinking the trees between Something-breaker and Chair 2, which are nice and easy for my sis (not a powder skier, but hey, she'll be on Inspired, she will float). They'll likely be cut out though. I skied towards Snake Dance on Sunday, it sucked. Snake Dance itself had patches of powder but not all the way, and I don't know my way around the "Danger - Cliff" signs on the left yet. Though I asked one patroller and he said you can continue past those and then drop into something? Where?
Thanks. I need to meet you guys and ski that BC. I'll be teaching little future rippers every Sunday but I have Saturdays left trying to find a balance between family life, skiing Alpental, and trying my hand at ski mountaineering with the Mountaineers.

Great stuff guys! I need some of you to show me around up there! Anyone gonna be up weekend of the 10th??? PM me or post if interested. Joshbu? Squirrel?
Rusty, send me an e-mail if you are interested, I have friends who are always up there and would love to take you back and show you a few different runs.
I'm in line to be shown too. And yes most was tracked up today. Found a bit of cut-up that wasn't too bad but nothing to gloat about. Skied with my sis, joshbu and the AD, who got saved by my pole from sliding too far down an icy traverse. My pole, 4 days old only and now bent, is still pissed at him (especially since I didn't follow my own advice and got a $80 pair of poles)...
