dynafit issue
So got my new dynafit comfort setup going this weekend.
Go out touring like a jong and didn't test the toe lockout first. Oops. Make it 9/10's of the way up the skin track before I start stepping out of the binding every few steps. Luckily there were major issues in our group so speed of ascent wasn't a problem, but now I'm feeling like a major jong.
Anyway, my binders won't lock in the toe with the boot in the binding? Not inside on the bench, or anywhere so it wasn't "a snow in the binding" problem. As soon as the boot is out, then they will obviously lock, but not with it in the binding.
Anyone got any suggestions or seen this?
Side rant, what is up with charging $50 for a mount?!?! I was going to do it myself but just ran out of time, so I guess I can't complain, but wow is that a lot for drilling a few holes (they don't even adjust them?!?!)

It could be that the lockout is a bit tight.
Try putting a ski pole underneath the tab and lift up using both hands
$50 for a mount!?

Yeah just whale on the toe tab harder. Thats the usual problem.

Be careful cranking on that toe lockout. It is plastic and not indestructable. It can take some pulling though. You will hear a click when you pull up, and then when you pull it a bit harder you hear another smaller click.

mine did the same. i thought there was snow in the holes or under the springs but after cleaning them out i had the same problem. i noticed it was always with my right toe so i yanked the shit out of the tab and voila, it worked.

Man, I was pulling pretty dang hard. I was worried about that plastic braking if I pulled any harder? I guess I will have to try the super yank on it and see if it goes. I would here a little click, but not the big click that I need to get the thing fully locked.

First weekend on mine too, and I had the same issue. Really hasd to yard on them to lock them. Thought they had iced up, but didn't see any ice in there. I'm hoping they break in a bit over time. Other than that, they were great.

Whoa, I'm shocked at how many fresh dynafit users we are. I had the same issues this weekend on mine.
My buddy who has been on Dynafits for years swears that they need to be broken in a bit, but my shop dudes said that was crazy. I think the breaking in is probably mostly on the user end, but I hope they don't hassle me at the wrong time.

comish, does it click down to the next lower setting when you press slightly down on it? that's what mine does when i have the problem. after you click in there should be 3 clicks, then you're locked down and nothing but a stout push should get you unlocked.

The base plate/shim of the toe piece has a plastic ridge underneath the tab that you pull on. Put the boot in and pull on the tab. Look at the part of the tab that comes into contact with the ridge and you'll see its kind of serrated. I find that the middle of the three little serations sits on the ridge when I've yanked it into touring position. I'd post pics but my computer has shat itself it appears.
