We beat the WPG heli skiers to those shots.

We were showing off on the peak, while they hit some smaller hills down canyon heh heh.

WPG had two ships up that day. They are not flying to remote landings. They will track out everything close as fast as they can, unless ski tourers get there first.

We got there first.

If you skied here, you might understand better. Come visit & we'll go get it. But till then a little respect seems appropriate.

FYI that was a 6,000' half day. Seems in CO you'd call that a supertour.

The Commander does that before breakfast on the way to work because the Commander did his basic training on Colorado.

Let me relay a little bit of my experience on this very same day. We went up to Day's Fork from LCC. It was so fucking good, like really unbelieveafuckinggoddamningly sweet pow. A couple runs off of the immediate backside and then up to the top of Main Days. We could see the heli landing on top of various shots, flying around, bla bla bla pretty much to be expected up in Days. Anyway, we skied a sweet Main Days but exited skier's right before the bottom (which is where WPB's LZ is), and headed back up for another. We were on the ridge about 100m from the top when the heli set down on top of Main Days. "Shit" we thought, but not because they were putting us in danger or because there was going to be no more epic pow after their group decended, but just because its what you say when a heli beats you to the top of a mountain you are climbing. Anyway, one of their guides, I believe his name was Chris skied down to us. "Sorry guys" he says. "We didn't see you on the ridge and wouldn't have landed if we knew you were this close." I believed him. "What are you planning to ski?" he asked. We pointed out where we were headed, coincidentally where he was planning on taking his group. He radioed back up to the top to tell his other guide to keep his people up there, cause we were there first. We asked about conditions elsewhere in the canyons. He said the snow in American Fork wasn't as good as over in good ol' days, and the same with Cardiff. "Some blasted hippy managed to track out ALL of our flyable terrain before we could get to it we're going to go out of business if he keeps this up." Just kidding about that last one but he told us to have fun, and we did.

It's only Wasangeles if you lack creativity. You have to think outside the box of (LCC-BCC Canyons), the Wasatch is much bigger than the typical TR's we see posted here and on T-tips. Go to Nebo, Cascade, Timp, Ben Lemond, Emmigration Canyon, Neffs Canyon, Burr Fork, City Creek and you will see NOBODY! Go a bit further north and you will only see Stoy, if you can find him. Go east, and you have the entire Uintas to yourself. Go west and you have the Oquirrhs, Stansbury's. The amount of terrain with a 90 minute radius of Utah is staggering. Only simple minded, uncreative, or overly time stressed people think Utah's mountains are crowded.

That's a good thing.

Hey iskibc, I never yo-yo except sometimes to get a little before work. Know what I mean? We did three different ascents & descents that day on three different aspects = not yo-yoing. What you see is that others also skied the line in the photo. Trackhead accurately & eloquently put to rest the crowded argument, also see my TR from from the next day 1/21/06. Now please go ski & stop cunting my thread.

Hey Alto, WPB left Cardiff for Days because they'd tracked out everything they could in Cardiff. That day, ski tourers were in Holy Toledo, Powerline Ridge, LSB & Superior.

Meanwhile & contrary to what they told you, WPB made several dozen flights to Cardiac Ridge, Ivory Flakes & E Kessler (all in Cardiff), before they flew to Days. Maggots in Holy Toledo have already mentioned in the Cold Smoke Report thread the non-stop roar as WPB flew by every few minutes. BTW I know the snow was & still is good in American Fork. WPB guides have lied to me too.

WPB claimed they didn't see you at 100m? Bet you're glad they weren't on a bombing run.

There's no end of dickwaving on this forum about scoring fresh tracks in ski areas. We scored fresh tracks on several classic lines ahead of the WPB heliskiers & I think y'all are just jealous. [/neener neener]
