Place to Mount A-basin/Breck

I'm headed out to A-basin (STL to CO roadtrip) to ski next weekend and need a good place to mount my mojo 90/mojo 15 combo. The current plan is to flip through the phone book and find someone/anyone who will mount tyrolia bindings. Does anyone have anywhere they can recommend or tell me to stay the f*ck away from? I'm trying to get some quick turnaround on the mount as well.

If I can't get the skis mounted up same day, is there a good place to rent a similar ski or even another madtrix mojo or mojo 90? I know a-basin doesn't do demo skis and I don't know the places nearby. I'm afraid my shorty midwest public enemies aren't going to be happy with a larger mountain and higher speeds.

Do Precision Ski in Frisco.

Tommy at Christy's in River Run. And they have sweet skis for demo too.

Brett's right about Precision in Frisco being awesome, but that guy has given me some sticker shock and I don't think his ski line-up is all that. He does have Rossi B4s for sale, I think. But I don't know that he demo's them out.

On a similar note, we went by MSO the other day and I was amazed at all the awesome skis they've got for sale. With a fair discount.

Thanks for the replies, I talked to the guys at Christy and they don't have a fischer jig. They said they could probably freehand it but that scares me a little bit...

Both MSO and Precision will work, I appreciate the recommendations and will definitely go to one of them.

One other thing, I'm currently using some out of the box superfeet insoles in my boots and they're getting pretty trashed. Does anyone have a plus or minus opinion on the insole/orthotic operations at MSO and Precision?

There's all the real snow out here you could ask for, and then some. :D

I can't recommend MSO for footbeds or mounting, just don't know. Jimbo at Precision in Frisco has an excellent reputation for all his work and I can second Racer's Edge in Breck as well.

I just had footbeds made at surefoot in River Run and I don't really like them. The material used on the surface (in contact with my foot) is not as cushy as I would like and I don't have perfect contact across the bottom of my foot. Spending all day, every day in my boots makes this very annoying. But I haven't tried to get it fixed yet, so the ball's in my court.

I have a pair of Racer's Edge footbeds and they are good if you like something with little less inward support. They were probably okay for my snowboarding application. I like the owner though, and got a good deal on some Atomic SG's (plus they have deals on last years' plug boots).

Foothills Ski and Bike in Genesee. The mounts are kinda expensive ($35-40) but he will absolutely not fuck it up. They also carry Head, and I believe he has some Mojo 90 demoes.

For mounts MSO does good work and pretty quick turnover time. If you want a Head dealer go to ReCycle Ski in Frisco they sell both skis and binders. Prescision is just across the street and they do awsome footbeds and mounts. Or if you want to go the surefoot route for footbeds which isn't a bad idea beacuse the guarentee everything they sell you go and see Tyler at the River Run store in Keystone or drive over to Copper and see Shaun "Splat" both of those guys really know what they are doing.

As long as you have blow torch, a mallet, and some gum I think you could do it yourself.:biggrin:
