Str8line Adventure Camp TR

Hey,
Just back from my second camp with Str8line.

WHAT A BLAST!!!!

If you haven't been, or can't fit in the maggot camp. Pick another and go!

I had so much fun and learned so much last year I came back...
Hell, I think I even learned more this year.
The camp was at Snowbird this year, (2 day bird, 1 alta) I it was even better than last year. The coaching, Thanks Jeremy and Brant, and the feedback was awesome. Jeremy, my next trip with Gordy I, will try that aggressive line like you.:biggrin: Adam Clarks pictures on Jeremy and others was incredible. How often do you get to see pics of Jeremy, have Jeremy tell you what was going on that day, trip, moment, and say "I haven't seen that picture, I need to get a copy!" Jim Conway, well nuff said. And a Maggot stopped by to chat while Jim was there to tell about his survival of an avi and what all went right and wrong. Brant, hell, he backs you up 4 turns and start telling you where you started going wrong. Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!
And to top if off 6+" powder on the last day. What a trip.

I suck at skiing, coughed up major coin, had a few "pros" ski with me. I'm still in awe. I'm one stoked gaper!

who was rocking the squads at alta?

Had 6th chair on Sunday, sweet sweet morning, and the afternoon was money too.

Was this a "serious skills required" camp? If not, and if it will be over the holiday next year.... I might just have to do it ($350 is not bad at alllll...)

The Maggot price is $375. Miniracer was a return client, hence the $350 price.

It is not a "serious skills required" camp at all. It is geared for advanced or expert skiers though. I might do a camp next year for advanced intermediates as well.

The goal of the camp is to provide skiers a breakthrough in their skiing and also teach them snow safety/backcountry skills. After the camp, skiers will know what they should be doing on their skis and the video analysis during the camp will give them an idea of where they're at.

The skills we focus on are actually pretty basic. We try to bring you to a technically solid foundation and eliminate your bad habits. That is a challenge for most skiers, but with the coaches constant critique-ing and the aid of video analysis, most attendees radically transform their bad habits.

Another aspect of the camp is challenging the attendee's to become more aggressive(once they have a technically solid foundation). The stronger groups get to chase guys like Jeremy Nobis, Brant Moles, et. al at nearly full speed around their favorite haunts. Just following the coaches helps a lot of the attendees.

The fact is, the improvement in over 50% of the attendees over the last 2 seasons has been huge. For some, the transformation in their skiing in just three days is incredible. Also, several attendees have contacted me and said that their improvement continued after the camp and that they are ripping harder than they ever thought possible.

I was present with Gordy when one of the guys in the camp suddenly 'got it'.
He dropped into a slope right then and his skiing went from night to day.
Although some posting here think their shit's ice cream and there ain't enough spoons to go around, anyone who thinks they don't need any schoolin would find things different real fast in the presence of the coaches for this camp. I was just tagging along and totally tuned into what those guys have to offer.Damn good investment into the skills for the mountains.
The beacon search techniques, snowpack analysis, and avie skills Conway teaches should be required knowledge for any serious skier and are worth the cost of the camp alone.
