I took mine into the skishop at my local hill, and they did it for free. I've been told that they can be heated in an oven @ 275F on a foil covered cookie sheet.
But wait for some info from the guys here that know lots about boots. I'd hate for you to ruin your liners as a result of my advice.
I'm no expert either, but I would just use a hair dryer. The only liners I'd put in an over are thermoflexes/intuitions.

just ski them.... all the heating does is help the packout of the boot that is going to happen anyways. no magic really.

I think its worth going to the ski shop and having them help fit them. I bought my g-ride AT boots at rei and they told me to do the molding at home, since i am in college and don't have an oven i said i wanted to do it in the store and the guy told me he was off the clock and there really wasn't anyone who could help me. Hows that for customer service. I used the oven at rei myself, heated them and buckled them tightly. Skied on them for a few days and the boots killed my feet, too tight in all the wrong places. I returned them to rei and went to the specialty shop thinking i needed the .5 size up, but they said to stick with the same size as the rei pair, but they would fit them correctly. True to their word, they fit them perfectly and i love the boots. I think its well worth a little extra time and money to get a good shop to fit your boots.
cc: I agree completly, did they do more then heating them up? some liner or shell work? change the footbed?
Well I took the advice the was the easiest ... I just skiied them without
any "pre molding" .... My arch's really hurt while skiing ...
is this a sign of needing new foot beds ??? I'm using the old
superfeet from my old boots ? or somethng else
Just remember to remove the custom footbeds before you heat them. Heating them with the fotbeds in can mess up the footbeds.
preheat the oven to 180*F, take out the foot beds, put the liners in the oven so they do not touch any metal( a big cutting board works, i would not use tin foil covered anything), take them out in 4 minutes, reinsert footbeds, reinsert liners in shell, put feet in boot, buckle the instep buckleflex forward a couple of times, do up the rest of the buckles/powerstrap snug but comfy, step into your skis on carpet, flex like you ski just a little, in 10 minutes or so you should be good to go
try and do the insert the liner thing and foot insertion as fast as possible as the fibers in the CAC liner lose their heat really fast
that being said all the above only counts if you have the CAC liner from this season or last, otherwise just do what mntlion says and ski them....
They put in superfeet type footbeds, not custom, but better than the stock ones. I didn't have any shell work done. With the liner they used toe caps and some padding in certain places.Quote:
