BC skiing from now to New Years -where to go?

Hey all, I got a few days off work coming up and some new Dynastar Big Troubles that have yet to see the snow. I have passes to Big White and Silverstar but have yet to hear anything good about the conditions there.

I was thinking I might head to Whistler or Kicking Horse or Red. Anyone been to these hills in the last few days and can comment on conditions high up? Weather reports always seem to be talking rain but then the resorts talk about small accumulations of snow.

Kicking Horse is reporting that it has the best conditions around (with some tempting looking photos to boot) but I heard second hand info about a guy who was just there who ripped his gear up on rocks and when he asked some dude why the hill was open in these conditions the guy said "well, I have to pay my staff, that's why". Not that you can believe everything you here.

Any beta from fellow westerners?
