Season = done
See gin's TR http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...&threadid=4198
Not official yet, but having blown one ACL already, this one feels awfully familiar. Actually, quite a bit worse than that other one. My knee is tweaked like Jesse James tweaks stuff on Monster Garage.
Appt. to see Doc next Monday morning, I'll know more then, but I'm not really very optimistic right now.
Very disappointing. Not even mad or anything, just really disappointed. This was going to be my biggest winter yet, with 4 trips likely. Sucks to have it end during the first one.
In other news, thanks to gin, basom, and APK for showing me around Jay (awesome mountain, great conditions right now), and good meeting noodles and shamrockpow.

That really sucks, Big E.
Here's hoping that you get a late Christmas present and it turns out to be a very minor issue that won't keep you off the snow for too long
-
Truly, truly sucks. Hate to see that shit happen and can't help feeling partially responsible. Let's hope your self-diagnosis is wrong...
Sick and ashamed and happy (and good vibes),
d.
-
fuck man that sucks, hoping for the best
-
E-
Sorry, dood. Hold on to hope until you see your doc, though... you never know.
Hell, you may be able to ski this season without an ACL, then fix 'er up in April and be ready to charge next year.
Anyway, I hope you're wrong! If not, here's to healing straight and fast.
-
D,
Hey man really shitty news to hear. I'm finally back in town for a while (well after this week at least). We'll have to get some beers sometime soon. Hopefully though it'll be after making turns.
-
Dooooooooood!
Totally shitty> Sounds like you had some good turns that day though!!! Unfortunately I can relate. Haven't had any turns myself since an opening day fall at Baker... Doc says nothing definitive from the MRI so wait another couple weeks to see if it comes around, but the summit is questionable for me if we do have to scope it...
FWIW, keep exercizing it as much as your pain threshold will allow, and know that there are others on the sidelines right now too.
-
Lo siento, brotha. You'll get back on 'em soon enough!
-
Sorry to hear that pal. Good vibes coming your way from NYC.
-
That blows dude. I echo the sentiments of the others in hoping it's not as serious as you think. Best of luck mang.
-
Wow, it sucks to hear that. Hope it's better than you think. Heal up fast!!
-
Bummers E. Hope its not as bad as you think. Keep us posted.
-
Way sorry to hear that, E. Let us know what the doc says and see if you can get the MRI on a disc to show us.
-
That sucks, but you never know, there's still plenty of time left in the season. And if that doesn't work there's the Southern Hemisphere.
Get well soon!
-
Let's hope for the better Big E! Hopefully you'll be back on the slopes sooner than later.
-
Well hurry and heal up. We've got your room ready for the Utah mini. You know you want me to get pics, of you dropping Boss Hog. :D :D
Hope your knee will cooperate. Best of luck :)
-
Good luck man, hope its not blown and you can get back to rippin' shit up!!!
-
Well that bites, Big E. Good luck with the recovery.
-
Man, that sucks a fat one. To alleviate the anguish, I recommend spending the $ you budgeted for your trip(s) and buy some more bomber gear. The combination of impulse buys and getting into the best shape of your life should be the right elixir for your soul.
-
Big E,
I haven't met ya yet (at least I don't think that I have), but I feel for ya. Don't lose hope until you hear what the doc says. Good luck!! :)
-
e man, that sucks so much. didnt even get a chance to say later. if you had made it to the drop the pics would have come out sweet :). i hope its not season ending so i can ski with you again in tahoe. heal em up!
-
Man, I can't imagine what a bummer it would be if I do that early in my season. Hope you recover it time to still salvage the year.
-
What did you do!!
There aren't that many of us Maryland-ers around here. How are you gonna represent the middle East side when your all gimped up? ;)
Serriously, that sucks about the knee. Like everyone else said, wait till you see the doc (more importantly, until you get the MRI results) before you totally throw the towel in for the season. A buddy of mine was sure he'd majorly faked his knee wakeboarding, but was on his snowboard three weeks later. Besides, how are we finally gonna meet up at Whitetail this winter if you can't ski??? ;)

Hopefully you're wrong, Big E. :( You sure have a great attitude about it though...
