Calling all lady mags, ski help for Mama

My mom loves skiing almost as much as she loves her first born (me of course) and I have decided to get her some sticks for X-mas. She currently skis on some old pair of Volants and she really needs something new. Despite all my years around this sport, I have no idea about skis that ladies may commonly prefer. Hell, I don't even know if ladies usually have their own ski-type loyalty. My mom is about 5'5'', I would guess 125-130lbs and she is an intermediate/expert skier--no real problems on the diamonds. She basically stays on piste (not much jibbin or huckin:) ) I am hoping to get a never-used pair of one year old skis to help keep costs reasonable. So what should my ma shred on?

Hope my mom isn't trolling on this site.

I picked up a pair of volkl sensors in a 156 for my mom, they sell this year for like 299 or less with bindings. She has never skied so well. Good wood core ski, not too drastic of a sidecut for the forgiving non carved turns mommy likes to make. She digs em, check them out. Otherwise, a pair of two season old v. supersports can be had, ripping chicks ski, carves with minimal effort, forward mounted binding position, high speed limit. For more of a budget approach, try a dynastar agyl 8 or driver 8 Ws. Foam core with autodrive sidewalls, good for a lighter weight skier. Very easy to initiate the turn, soft tip so fun at slow speeds in bumps. 13m cut so it makes a pretty short turn. Not the ski if she likes to go fast. We sell these with Look Nova 11 bindings for 199 new at my store. Worth checking out.
K2 has good offerings as well, but I don't have firsthand experience with them. Most of these skis can be found at www dot summitsportsinc dot com. not spamming, but I know they have them since I've sold a few pairs. Ebay might have them cheap too. If mommy has problems with skiing in the backseat, a W specific design will force her to keep forward over the ski, moving the chord center forward as well as the binding mount, easier turn initiation. If she rips, just go with a guys ski.

Thanks man, I appreciate the input and will look into all the skis you mentioned. Your store doesnt happen to be in Seattle?:) From your descriptions, momma may want the volkl sensors.

Well, my dad is 63 and an all mtn shredder, and a very knowledgeable friend recommended the Volkl AC4 as a great stick for all mountain, it's the fattest one you can find. So maybe one of the lower levels of that- like the AC3? I know I've seen a lot of women skiing the Pocket Rocket as well...

edited because I made her sound fat, but it's her skis that are fat... she's skinny, I think, looks great naked anyway, I'd post y'all a pick only she said she'd break my new skis...
