Anyone else disappointed with Vail today?
Well, I think all the hype surrounding the opening of Blue Sky did it's job in drawing a much larger crowd than I had expected and/or hoped for. I know this was inevitable, but it still sucks.
Blue Sky was filled with a large percentage of Larry Gapestars all morning. :cussing:
Everytime I rode up the 37 I saw groups of families pizza-slicing their way down the hill. Not that I have any more right to be there than they do, but 4500+ acres of terrain and everyone was smashed into about 25% of it.
I was on Visty at 9:05 and by the time I reached Blue Sky, I got one good run before the bulk was tracked. Granted, soft stuff could still be found in the trees and other stashes, but c'mon!:nonono2:
Needless to say, I'll be picking the remainder of my Vail days much more selectively from here on out this year.
Rant over...see you all back at Loveland tomorrow.
