Anyone else disappointed with Vail today?

Well, I think all the hype surrounding the opening of Blue Sky did it's job in drawing a much larger crowd than I had expected and/or hoped for. I know this was inevitable, but it still sucks.

Blue Sky was filled with a large percentage of Larry Gapestars all morning. :cussing:

Everytime I rode up the 37 I saw groups of families pizza-slicing their way down the hill. Not that I have any more right to be there than they do, but 4500+ acres of terrain and everyone was smashed into about 25% of it.:mad: :eek: :confused:

I was on Visty at 9:05 and by the time I reached Blue Sky, I got one good run before the bulk was tracked. Granted, soft stuff could still be found in the trees and other stashes, but c'mon!:nonono2:

Needless to say, I'll be picking the remainder of my Vail days much more selectively from here on out this year.

Rant over...see you all back at Loveland tomorrow.

Terrain is the only reason I like the place. Everything about it... not so much. I'd rather go 10 more minutes and ski freshies at BC all day. Now if they'd only open up some more terrain, I could do that.

I'm dissapointed with vail every day. So yeah, let's turn this into another vail bashing thread and then move on to taos as I get progressivly more drunk. You can watch my spelling get worse with every post and when I stop posting you'll know I finally passed out and can be rid of me till tomorrow. Damn, am I getting old, drinking alone on a friday night surfing the net? or am I just lame like always. :tdo13:

I guess I could go see First decent like all the other jongs... decisions decisions?

you actually happen to be cooler than me. i am not drinking because i have skied the last 4 weekends hungover as hell and i am sick of it. this old 27 year old needs his sober sleep tonight. what a pussy i am. there are cougars just blocks away and...alright, you talked me into, i am going to the bar.

Yes, but this is only my third season out here in CO, and I'm not as much of a ripper as most people on here- so there is some good stuff there. IMO however, its just not worth all the other crap there. I'm done now.

Vail is all about where to go. Skiing there for over 1000 days helps.

Reasons I dont like Vail:

1) Driving 1+ hours additional each way
2) Hiking across parking lots(and paying for parking!!!!!) both ways to shuttle buses only in order to hike more to the lifts
3) Lift lines - long waits and fighting the Eurotrash who cut in line
4) Chasing powder before it gets tracked out by rushing hoards - China Bowl done by 10:30
5) $9 Burgers and Beers
6) Surrounded by Type-Vails

Never ridden there but saw it for the first time a few summers ago when we were camping in leadville. I was like damn, they put a strip mall in the middle of the mountains.
