Durability/Lightness of B3s

Back in the day I swore I'd never ski rossis because the old dualshit XXXs seemed to be the most explodingest ski ever. fart near a rock and the sidewall would blow out.

Having bent/decambered/half-spatulized my current touring ski (iggy FFL) i'm in need of a new one, and may be able to pick up last years B3s for cheap.

are these more durable rock-wise than the rossis of old? being a foam ski are they lightish for happy touring?

i'm about 250# and step on the occasional rock. non-touring quiver is mostly dynastars (bigs, nobii) and iggies, so that's what i like. touring will be 50/50 east coast/other places with better snow, and these will see zero duty lift served.

maybe i'll just crush these skis, but maybe they'll be sweet?

Havent pushed the durability on mine yet, but not a bad ski. I would say it is a good "nonpow" ski. Decent edge hold and pretty damp, but really easy to ski and skis really short for a 195 due to the twin. While they HAVE to be more durable than the dualtec crap, I still wouldnt trust them to take a big hit to the sidewall. But they are cheap and with midseason releases on the way they may get cheaper. Hope that helps a little.

thanks. it's been a while since i've blown and edge or cracked a sidewall but friends on the XXXs used to do it like every third day out...

may take a flyer on these if i can get them...

knowing how you ski, I'd be willing to say those get busted within a week from the first time you take them out.
