Quiver Questions for a new Maggot

Hi guys, I am new to the site and have a quick question. Currently I am deployed to Iraq and have been for the past year, I will be returning in January and I'm planning a few trips out west and need some help with a ski choice. I currently have in the quiver a pair of Seth V's with PX 12 TI's, and Line chronics with P10's. So my question is what would be the best all around, all mountain (no moguls/park), light, non twin tip, that is able to handle the POW of the west and the ICE of the east where I currently reside. I was looking at the Volkl Supersport 4 Star, but that is me just guessing. I am new to non twin tip skis, so any advice or knowledge would be helpfull. I am also, 5'8, 140 lbs, and a aggresive skier. I hate to go a little of the subject but upon my return from Iraq, I will be leaving the military and want to pursue a career in mountain rescue or pro ski patrol, and am curious if anyone knows where I could posibly find a training guide/requirements for each. Sounds like the ski you might be looking for is the Volkl Mantra. Only a slight twin. They carve well on hardpack and have enough girth to hold up in pow. Any reason you don't want a twin tip? It doesn't really hurt anything in terms of carving.

As for pro patrolling, I know at Mt. Hood Meadows they do a skiing test with you in the spring and see if you have the skiing skills. If they hire you, you then train all summer to get certified in CPR, etc. Just what I've heard anyway.

Maybe you could get a job with the forest service or parks dept, or something like that. Good luck anyway.

It's not that I don't want another twin, but I already have two and I would like to add a non twin tip to the quiver. I will be moving to CO next fall, so I also don't want to focus on the ICE of the east too much as far as the skis go, thanks for the reply.

Given that you are on the lighter side, you can probably get any with something that is 80mm or greater in the waist for pow.

As a former East Coaster, I think the bigger issue will be finding something that wide that you are happy with on the ice. Demoing back east will be way to find that out. I would recommend looking at Volkl's AC4 instead of the any in the SuperSport line(I luv my 6*, but not for pow), also maybe the Legend 8800. I would also second the Mantra a good choice.

Just read you 2nd post, if you throw out the ice requirement the field is wide open. What are your other skis? BTW: IMHO a little upturn in the tail, like Legend 8800/Pro, is nice in the pow.
