My pozi has disappeared and i need one asap--doubt i'll have much luck buying/bartering/stealing one from a ski shop, i'm on hold at autozone right now as presumably the girl that answered the phone asks everyone in the shop what a pozidriv is...
where would i find one of these on the wed. afternoon before thanksgiving in Average Major Metropolitan Area, USA.
yeah, you can use a phillips #3 that has a flattened head and not the point head. i usually go that route, personally.

A phillips with a flattened head IS a posidrive. Just look for a #3, the ones I have say "p3" or something like that on the handle.

Much easier to find as a PZ3 bit. Then explore the ratchet screwdriver racks for something slim enough to fit next to heel units/into 997s.

A really, really good hardware store might have them, but not HD.
And they are really worth it. there is a reason for the name.

Sears is a good idea, probably a bit set with PZ1-3.
As has been said, a # 3 Phillips, just bear down and
go slow. Industrial hardware in a big city.
About the only industry that uses Posi, that I see regularly,
would be cabinet shops, all your Eurohinges(Grass, Blum)
use #2 Posi for adjustments and setting.
Posidrive is just different enough to screw up your
screwheads if you are not careful.(with a 3 Phillips).
By the way, the "sharp" Phillips are often actually Reed & Prince.

I've just used a file to modify a #3 , it seems to work well. I'd like to have a pozidrive screwdriver though, nothing beats the one that say marker on tha handle.:FIREdevil
Actually I think the Stanley is nicer than the Marker and about half the price. I think WIHA has the best one out there (best quality steel) except for the handle shape.
One issue with the short bits is that once you put them in a T handle they don't like fitting into the toes of some bindings like the Tyrolias. I belt sanded a fixed T handle to get one to clear but it's still tight. I picked a nice grippy handled pozi from a small online ski tuning place a few years ago for $13. The pozi bits just have more grip. If your mounting alot of bindings go pozi IMHO.
