The skiers I know of who have mounted their FreeRandos using the boot tip mark have liked the performance of the ski, especially in powder where the rear mount keeps the tips up for better float. For Trab's DH oriented skis (the FreeRide and the FreeOne) a more forward boot center mark is used as the recommended mounting location.
For tele mounts, I have found chord center to be the best 3-pin line. It is generally located ~5/8' behind the toe mark (varies slightly depending on model and length).
