Mt. Bachelor???
So any Bend locals care to elaborate. I want to head that way for a combined skiing/climbing road trip. Live cams show the mountain to be looking nice, while Smith is covered in icy fog.
Local beta much appreciated. Bring the rock boards? Leave the rack at home?
Thanks mags...

yo yo yo
mountain is in good early-season condition, plenty of high-speed groomers to be had all around the mountain. I rode my rock board in order to play in ungroomed areas....why thrash you minty boards just yet, eh? Clouds in town but inverted and sunny up high. De-lovely.
we have a heavy fog bank in Central OR due to an air stagnation effect...strange, but is supposed to be clearing in a couple of days.
also supposed to be getting rather cold, so the snow will be there.
how difficult is it to bring it all and then decide?
com'on down, much fun to be had

I climbed at Smith last Saturday. It was great- sunny and warm. When the sun is out it's almost shirtless weather right now. The shade is cooler, but it's a good time of year- really grippy rock. If this high pressure stays Smith will be good. -kb
