Tips for using a Kwik Base Bonder

My buddy just acquired a base bonder gun. Neither of us have used one of these fancy contraptions before.

Whats the technique for this bad mamajama?

Do you lay down the base just as you would with a regular ole stick on fire technique? Or do you press it in with the flat part as you go? How long do you let it sit before scrapping?

the p-tex comes out already melted. Just press it in with the flat tip. If you do it right there won't me much to scape at all. Maybe just some minor timming and structuring.
