I have to do an oral presentation for my Bio1500 class - Enviormental Science on a topic pertaining to the enviorment. I am going to do a report on Avalanches, but it has to be related to the enviorment. It has to be 3-7 minutes long with 3 references and 3 illustrations. If anyone has any suggestion 's on websites or areas pertaining to Avalanches and the enviroment, your help would be greatly appreciated I'm a newb here.
i don't know exactly what you're looking for but maybe you could do something on the "100 year" slide cycles that seem to come every 20 years. they purge large primary growth stands that are home to lots of creatures. in the following years they rot, house termites and tree killing beetles and become fire hazards.
if you get any specific ideas someone might be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the online book. It was very helpful. If anyone else here has any websites with information on the pros and cons of avalanche areas on the enviorment please send them my way. I lost all my bookmarks on mozilla so i need like 2 websites with information on them.
