anyone going tomorrow?
I'm going at midnight tonight, not by choice. Going to a midnight showing of a 3:40 hour movie is not ideal. Damn friends!
hahahaha, I am going to the midnight showing after beers with snowfire, and then I am taking a final at 7:30 tommorow morning, isn't life grand? OH yeah, and I am skiing tommorow afternoon, yes.
going to 12:30 showing tonight, by choice!

Gunna go tonight, getting a good 4 hours of sleep before classes.
Missed getting tickets for tonight, seeing it tomorrow after skiing.
Yep. I got my tickets for the showing at St Adele. If you all ever get the chance I suggest reading all of the books. Even the history volumns. "History of Middle Earth: Book of lost tales I, II".
Really gets into the nuts and bolts of JRR's thought process in the creation of his charactors. His used lots of Old Testiment struction to frame his charactors.

The religion department at my school offered a course on on the LOTR trilogy. It was sort of a study of the similarities between JRR's characters and Biblical figures. Never took the course because of my total lack of interest in Fantasy type books but sounds interesting anyway.

Took me three months in Norway to read the book. Sucks to be dyslexic.
Good good book. I was so stoked to find out that movies would come out. I wanted to see how someone else saw the caracters.
Tom Bombadil is the shizznazz
lord of the rings is for dorks! pfffft.:D
Well, midnight viewers, how the hell was the movie?
It was damn good.
not midnight man from the states here, but i guess i can help.
it was really cool.
it blows you away.
but as a book maniac there were some parts i didt like that much.
+atmosphere, i didnt blink for some time
+effects they support the movie instead of making the movie
+ actors they all rocked
+ epic battles 6000 riders sweeping through foot soldiers has fascinating asthetic qualities.
+shakespearien like dialogues(sometimes)
-some story changes i didnt quite like but that is minor.
- too short --->looks like the other ones concerning cuts, the SEE will be the shit !!!
overall 9/10 points
Alrighty then.
Edit:
Too short? Isn't it like 3+ hours?
The bit that blew me away was when you worked out he was a ghost all along. Weird.Quote:
