I guess my wife and mother in law were fliping through the Couloir I left on the kitchen table this afternoon and came across the ad with the double amputee. Being the INCREDIBLY backcountry savvy veterans that they are:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: they proceded to bitch at me that I didn't have one and I was going to get hurt or killed in the BC and orphan my son.......blah blah blah
I tried to explain that most of my BC skiing is short laps within a snowballs throw of a major highway, and that for $750 I'd be better off buying an avi becon and using the rest of the $ on an avi class and buying books on winter camping
Needless to say the two armchair skiers weren't to terribly impressed with my attitude but I just don't see the point of a PLB when I'm going to be at maximum 2 miles away from the nearest trailhead/road
