I was just signing up finaly for paypal and was confused whether i needed a personal account or the premier account. I will be buying stuff from ebay and the TGR board etc... as well as accepting payments when i sell things on ebay and off. Does that mean i need the premier account in order to sell things? Thanks....
No, the basic account still allows you to send payments on non-ebay transactions, and it is free..
The premium account allows you to accept credit card for payments on items you sell. The down side is they take 3% off every sale thereafter even if credit cards aren't involved and you can't go back. I just use a basic and explain carefully that only paypal cash transfers are accepted (free). More than 50% try to pay with credit card still because paypal lures them towards it which lures you towards that 3% premium.
