This Shit is Serious, Metal is Back!!!
Tired of Winter Park’s spinning-hippie-chick jam-band scene, Olson (a full-time musician) and Shanahan (owner of the Winter Park Pub) decided to rock their ski town with the obvious remedy: a healthy does of hair metal. So they recruited Irvine and Parker, and last March unveiled Huge in Germany, a Mötley Crue/Warrant/AC/DC tribute band. Complete with giant wigs, chicken-stomping boots with six-inch heels, and Bon Jovi jeans, the band’s Spinal-Tappish “story” goes something like this: From the mid to late ‘80s, Huge rocked Germany and the rest of Europe alongside such stadium gods as Guns ‘n’ Roses and Whitesnake. But with the blistering guitar riffs came fast cars, faster women, and cheese-ball shooters (a cocaine-and-cheese-puff concoction) that ultimately splintered the band. Fifteen years later, the big-banged rockers chose Winter Park for the first stop on their reunion tour. Thus, a legend was reborn—or completely contrived, depending on how you look at it. Either way, their commitment to Aqua Net and skull bandanas earns respect.

OK, so this is my buddies band. It's a party like none other. If you get a chance to see them, do it! They are setting up shows in a handfull of ski towns this winter. They are all talented musicians
