Got a used pair of skis previously drilled and plugged for looks. If my sole size is the same, would it be better to mount looks on them and reuse the previously drilled and plugged holes, Or go with something with a different drill pattern to not reuse those holes? Or does it make no differenece at at all?
I'd try using the holes already there first, if that's where you want them mounted. If the plugs are in there good, just take a drill bit about half the width of the hole and drill down in the center of the plug. It will get most, if not all, of the plug out. Any plastic left will actually help seat the screws when the go back down in. If you end up with a spinner or two, you could redrill, although I'd rather do a couple heli coils rather than drill sixteen new holes in my skis. Good luck.

Epoxy is unneccessary, best glue is some of that Elmer's Ultimate Glue (has a blue bull on the front, get it at any HW store or Target or something). It has polyurethane in it.Quote:

I picked up a pair of explosivs (thanks Big Huck) earlier in the year, mounted w/sollys, but previously drilled for freerides. In anticipation of some touring soon, I'm ready to put the freerides on, only to discover what looks like very nicely plugged holes with metal plugs.
Can I get some thoughts on this?

190 Wizards with yellow/black 977s? Those might be my old skis. If they are, those are plastic plugs. Drill them out and use the Freeride holes.Quote:
