Granby? What to do? (+Fraser and RMNP?)

I have a work conference coming up in Granby 9/11-13

The conference is at some goofy looking place called Sun Ranch, that’s where I’ll be staying

I just looked at Granby Ranch online. Lots of WTF there. $20 to ride the trails??

I’ll be somewhat game-on during the conference and will really only have time to squeeze rides in.

A quick search on Trailforks makes it look like the only riding IN Granby is at this pay-to-play park? And if I want to just go riding I have to drive to Fraser ~ 20 mins away?

Also, I’ll have Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday with nothing to do, just need to be in Fort Collins Sunday night.

Anything else awesome to do in the area? I’ve never been to RMNP so was thinking about doing a run there, but I bet it’s gonna be bananas in the park on a weekend day in September.

Anyone know the area?

Foggy will chime in, he is a better source on info over there than I am.
I would drive to Winter Park and ride the Idlewild trails or just pay to ride the lifts at Trestle. Trestle bike park is the best around and you can probably ride up the mountain service road and then down some of the trails. If you crave cardio that is.
Granby is more for hiking and boating in my experience but maybe I'm wrong.

RMNP will still be on timed entry reservations in September. Go to Recreation.gov to see what time slots are still available. There's 2 pass types - with / without access to Bear Lake. Bear Lake is where the majority of the day hiking is, and is the busiest part of the park by far. There's a central parking lot and shuttles up to the trailheads (there is some parking at the trailheads too). There's some very scenic hiking up there, it's popular for a reason. Get a timed entry for Sunday, spend the day in the park, and then drive down to FoCo. Plenty of MTB options in Frasier & WP. Great gravel biking too.
