Euro Mags: Looking for recs for guide to hire for Haute Route or similar this winter

I am about to pull the trigger on a solo trip to Yurp this winter/spring to ski some resorts and do some touring. Mrs. Shoe gave me the green light so I am not going to pass it up.</p>

Of course I have heard of the Haute Route, and that is a dream trip for me. But as a filthy North American, there are almost certainly some other classics that I have not heard of. Contemplating perhaps a trip to watch the Verbier comp and pair it up with some resort skiing and a guided multiday trip somewhere.</p>
<p>
I am looking for some recomendations on a guide or guiding company to hire, and maybe some other lesser known options than the Haute Route that might be worthy. I am fluent in French so if your favourite guide is a French only speaker that is cool too.</p>
<p>
I am an expert skier with decent rope skills, but not looking for death defying exposure on the skiing or the rope work. Something like 4-5 days of classic Euro hut alpine, 4-5 days of resort skiing, and carousing in local pubs in between.</p>

Sorry if this has been covered before. I will admit I did not search for previous threads before posting. My research has led me to the Haute Route, Silvretta Traverse, Gran Paradiso Traverse, Vanoise Traverse, Otztal Traverse, and the Bernese Oberland Traverse</p>

Was also gonna recommend Dan Loutrel/Andermatt guides, also of Birdos Skis fame, mentioned in that thread. Never toured with him but he’s kinda my brother-in-common-law hahaha. Great dude with a focus on fun.

Anyway, he does all sorts of guiding, fully certified etc, but free ride skiing is really his niche so if you’re looking for more of an exciting skiing focus on your trip, he’d be a good guy to talk to.

Sounds like a solid plan. You’ll likely see Whistlers Goguen fighting it out with Verbier’s Martin Bender for the comp so could be a good one. I’m Verbier based and doing some hut based glacier skiing leaving from Zinal end March with an Italian guide that I skied the Marinelli and Mont Blanc with. A bit less traversing and more skiing than the Haute Route but in a similar area. And a bit more relaxed vibe and comes in a bit cheaper than the Swiss guides. PM me for details if you want them.
