Never seen this before. My XPro-100s came apart on a seam between 2 different colors of plastic, lower shell, outside pivot on both boots. I contacted Solly late yesterday and they are looking into it. Going to the shop where I bought them tomorrow to get a new pair of boots. Anyone hear of this?</p>
When I was getting some boot work done on my solly's, the shop was a little concerned about this exact issue (since the punch was in the vicinity of the color seam). The punch went fine, but apparently it's an issue.

Thx, what was so weird was we were having a good day skiing and took a break, when I went back out all of a sudden I was sloppy as hell, skied another 3-4 runs and in the parking lot I had an epiphany.
I broke several pair of quest bc ( except the first Blu white bc 120)and qst 130s. Ripped apart the shell. Single color ;)
They replaced them.
Still ski shift boots because apparently I have Salomon feet and they nearly fit out of the box.
Hopefully they take care of you with some new boots.

Boot fitter Sam at (LMS) Christies said it looked like a manufacturing flaw. Also said if the boots are > 5 years old (they are now 7 years old) that I was probably out of luck. I found a pair of the same boot, last year model (No BOA closure), for $ 349.00 from Canada in a 110 flex. Hopefully they get here without and hi-jinks or tariffs. If Salomon comes through I will be psyched. If not, so it goes.

For something that is clearly a manufacturer's fault, they should have at least kicked you a discount code.
With seven seasons on a boot with one hundred fifity-two hundred+ days on them, not sure a warranty replacement is warranted… sucks to have gear not hold up forever, but eventually plastics get brittle and stressed, and hardgoods fail. I’d say you got your moneys worth out of them

I had some Salomons do exactly this a few years back. I can't remember if they were the warranty replacement for the ones that cracked or vice versa, but that was when I stopped buying Salomon boots...

But again, does the average skier who at best puts 50 days on a set of boots a season (or much less) think a 2 yr warranty is reasonable?
Was basing the numbers off your original post twenty-thirty days a year. Generally speaking, warranties are mostly meant to catch manufacturing defects that happen quickly (I.e. first two years, first 20-40 days of use) rather than long term durability/longevity issues .
This falls more into the category of a non-robust design that doesn’t last as long as some other boots imo. If it failed in the first two years under fifty days of use, then pretty clear cut warranty defect (should definitely last at least that long), but at seven years later companies would go out of business if they warrantied hard goods like boots when they start breaking down. They also have no way of knowing if the boot was skied fifty days over seven years or three hundred, other than a customers word, there’s no odometer on boots, so time is an easier metric. I’d assume they figure at Max boots will get 120 days in two seasons for the vast majority of people, so that’s really their warranty metric, whether that occurs at two years or ten.
My twenty twenty Xpro one thirty’s have probably around two hundred days on them, no signs of that issue, although the plastic is showing some fatigue here and there. If they crack tomorrow I’ll say money well spent and get a new pair.

Replacement boots showed up today. S-Pro Supra in a 110 flex. I ordered these as a close out from a shop in Alberta, excellent price and good service. https://shopnomads.com/?syclid=85230...e-53a6243ea36e 1st thing I noticed is there are no longer multiple sections of plastic of different colors molded together.

ETA: they fit right out of the box, may need a small punch over my namesake. They are obviously a much cheaper boot to make than the pair that broke, much simpler shell and pivot design and different/cheesier replacable sole system. Oh well, they were cheap.
