Kid C vs A boot & binding question?

Have searched and looked at my kids boots. Pretty sure they’re A/adult, but can’t for life of me find how to confirm that for sure. Reading it’s the same ISO standard, but that C and A “may” have different lug heights, wtf kind of standard is that?!? Also read that some junior race models go from C to A at a certain size, but nothing I could find on that!?

Any shop mags got some guidance here? Kid has 22.5 Lange RS 90 SC and bought her some new Atomic Redsters w Colt 7 GW C, which binders claim for C boot type only. Forward pressure and auto-adjust toe height seem fine, including the sliding business card test, but don’t want her to injure herself. Friend of ours kid has been skiing the same setup w likely adult boot for a while w/o issue.

Any advice?

Check the sole of the boot around the midsole line. There should be a big A or C molded into the bottom of the boot. Per Lange's site, looking at the current version of that boot, I can almost faintly make out the A on the left side of the photo of the sole of the boot.

Adult 5355 boot soles are 69mm wide, 19mm H at the toe/30mm H at the heel. Kids are 62mm wide, 16.5 toe/27.5 heel. That lives rent free in my head and I need to get a new job.

I’ve inadvertently had my kids use A boots with C bindings. Never had an issue. However, had I known ahead of time, I likely would have changed the bindings to Adult bindings. Kid bindings (even with the A norm) are cheap, so no reason to risk an injury IMO.

Thanks for the info, will check them later for the A/C that I may have missed and especially the lug height specs!!

Agree it's absolutely worth replacing bindings vs risking it with the non-standard.
