Lander WY Beta?
My daughter and I did a week long backpacking trip into the Wind Rivers this summer searching for golden trout. My daughter wants to go back and show my wife around some of the things we saw while there. My wife is active but had a double lung transplant about 10 years ago. Her hiking limit is probably a couple miles each way so we cant go too far. Anything we need to check out while hanging out in Lander over a long weekend? Daughter wants to get some fishing in as well. Prefer streams over lakes if anybody wants to pm me some info on that I'd appreciate it.

If you know Lander at all you know the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie (pu-POE-zha) and Sinks Canyon.
I didn't know they tranplanted goldens into the Winds. I've caught them in the Sierra and they were too small to bother with. Years ago I fished a stretch of the North Fork of the Popo Agie a little below (not so) Lonesome Lk where the trail was away from the river so no one fished that spot and I was catching fish with every cast.

This one despite its size was probably our funnest catch. Came from a wide spot in a tiny stream you could jump over. Attachment 499933

The goldens I've seen in the Sierra were like the second. Strong work.

Wind River (2017) is a good — not great — movie set in Lander, FWIW
It's kinda meh, but Thermopolis, Wyoming which isn't too far from Lander has some 'touristy' hot springs, swimming, a large reservoir, the bighorn river, and a dinosaur museum.

Not a ton of short hikes into the Winds out of Lander. South Pass area is pretty cool as is Sinks Canyon.
Popo Agie Falls was a shorter hike if I remember right and is a pretty neat natural waterslide, but probably isnt really flowing in the fall.
Lander Bar/Gannett Grill is a must for food. Cowfish next door is good too
