Having worked construction just outside of Idaho Falls, I'd say you're not wrong. Sounds like Joey may be more of a commercial/residential guy, but one of the nice things about working at the site is the diversity it brings in. Since it's a DOE site I believe most of the labor is union, and to get in the union it seems like all you really need is a pulse, so good money to be had.
Interesting. Care to elaborate? If I had to choose I'd probably go IF over Pocatello.
To me, the only thing Pocatello has over IF from an activities standpoint is the proximity to/quality of biking and Pebble is only about a 30min drive. But I'd argue a lot of what is considered to be the nucleus of the region is more easily accessed from IF than Pocatello.
