I LOVE Opiate and Undertow--have since high school. But it's almost like two different bands, once Chancellor joined up, compared to Paul. Their evolution and the intricacies and depth has only grown over the years and much if that has been the combo of Danny and Justin's rhythm. I was listening to Opiate in the shop the other day and it's like a bean and cheese burrito (albeit a magically delicious one) next to a gourmet seven layer nacho when compared to their latter work. Fear Inoculum isn't Opiate and in their case, I'm glad it's different. I'm really looking forward to hearing their next album.

Very well put. I just saw them in Fresno of all places a week ago. Maynard might not be able to hit every scream just perfect like 30 years ago, but when they pulled out intolerance and stinkfist, he didn't miss a damn thing. But that wasn't the biggest drop of the show. The build up and guitar solo in Pneuma brought down the goddamn house.Quote:
