FS: 2020 Orbea Occam M10, size L

Brief info: 2020 Orbea Occam M10, size L, beefed up suspension with 150/150 travel (full Manitou steeze, Mezzer Pro in the front and Mara Pro in the back), full XT transmission (brand new crankset), XT 4-piston brakes, OneUp 210 dropper, stock DT XM 1650 wheels (alu, 30 mm IW, DT350 hubs with 52t ratchet), brand new Specialized Butcher/Eliminator 2.3 tires.

Bike has about 2300 miles on it, I'm the sole owner, it was my only ride between Sep 2020 and Spring 2022 when I got another ride. It's been ridden hard (a few of you on here have seen how much the bike lets me get away with), crashed a bunch (that has also been witnessed by some on TGR), and meticulously cared for. Full ridewrap kept most of the damage superficial except 1 spot (pics at the link above) on the frame and some light (repaired) scratches on the stanchions.
I LOVE the bike but it's a bit redundant now that I have an enduro pig and a shorter travel zippy bike.

Mag price available, especially if you save me from having to ship the fucker.

I love mine honestly, kinda regret buying into the enduro hype and buying a Gnarvana. There was too much overlap with Occam so I figured I'd sell it and get something shorter travel. Ended up buying a Stumpy which I'm not getting along with all that well, same weight as the Occam but significantly less capable. I feel like the Occam has to go before it's too old and too beat up to lose all of its value but I'm not that pumped about it. If I get no bite I'll probably fly it to France next time I visit my parents and leave it there so I don't need to deal with flying bikes back and forth...

Bump cause I realize I didn't actually list a price. Now down to $2500 with TGR discount available.
Get that thing out of my house, need to make room for the baby!

Anybody have opinions as to why I should, or shouldn’t, consider this bike over my Transition Smuggler? Me: likes long rides, if my wheels leave the ground it’s probably an accident, favorite style trails that people here will know is Mojave to CMG, Skyline in Ogden, old school Snowbasin trails before the sanitation, etc. This bike weighs about the same as the Smuggler with an inch more travel. How does it pedal comparatively?

No experience on the orbea, but I have a 2017 aluminum smuggler (115 travel) and I think it absolutely rips. I’ve taken it on most of the bike park trails at Deer Valley and as long as you hit transitions, it’s fine on all of them. That said, this Orbea is going to descend way better and reviews say it pedals well. I got a stumpy evo to compliment my smuggler, and I’m putting xc tires on the smuggler where as I was running it with beef tires before. If I didn’t have a new stumpy evo, I’d be looking at buying this orbea. Not super up to date on used mtb pricing but seems like a good deal.

Zion, I think you and I are on the same page regarding style of riding. Most of my miles are long-ish trail days in PC/around Crest with Shoreline days early and late season. Standard after work loop would be Glenwild>FlyingDog>24-7, if I go to PC something like Jennys>Tommy>Keystone>Shadow>9k>Corvair>Johns, basically lots of pedaling and relatively smooth downs with the goal of doing a bunch of fast miles without any serious gnar. When I used to work down in Lehi I was riding EaMo a lot and occasionally Corner Canyon (I do enjoy some carpet at times). I go do the Antelope Island circumnavigation once a year and spend a fair amount of time on dumb exploratory rides (many dumb loops around MoPi/Big Mountain, nothing too technical but lots of shitty miles with angry steeps, brush, and lots of HAB).

The reason I love the Occam for that type of riding is that it's ultra-capable with the current build without ever feeling like it's too much bike for mellow trails and long days. It pedals really well (without ever locking the shock), it's not too bad if I have to throw it on my back (unlike my big bike), and it's super quick nimble on moderate downhills (you mentioned Mojave, perfect example, bike feels like a rocket on that trail). In rough stuff it's just amazing, I honestly can't think of anything in the Wasatch I would do on the Gnarvana but not on the Occam. High speed Beartrap, Honeycomb, Brighton slabs, I'm barely faster or cleaner on the big bike, and don't feel any sketchier. I followed some buddies down Flying Monkey a couple seasons ago, ended up shitting myself in fear on the first lap and clearing everything by the 3rd without ever getting the feeling that I was abusing the bike (and that was before bumping rear travel to 150).

To compare to other bikes I've been on:
. Intense Primer (140f/130r): my previous trail bike, it felt a touch more efficient on the up but the geometry made it super nervous on the down. It was my first bike after a 10-year break, I had a great time on it but within 3 rides on the Occam I had unlocked the next 3 levels of progression for my riding.
. Stumpjumper (150f/130r): bought last fall to replace the Occam, thinking I could build it light and end up with something more uphill friendly but equally capable. Not so, the weight came out about the same (with a Pike instead of a MezzerPro), it doesn't pedal any better despite having 20mm less travel in the back, and it's nowhere near as composed as the Occam in chunky stuff. That has led to some unpleasant moments when I'm wrapping up a big day and riding the last bit of down picking all the shitty lines. The Occam always had my back, I feel like the Stumpy will do nothing to save me.
. GG Gnarvana (170f/160r): not really a meaningful comparison given the different application. The GG is a very capable pig, much more composed in the rough and at speed but not much faster. On the up it works well enough but compared to the Occam it's an absolute hog. I rode it around Park City early season last year for shits and giggles, it works but feels 20% harder.

Anyway, it's the perfect one-bike-quiver for the Wasatch. I probably won't keep 2 bikes for much longer given the upcoming lifestyle changes with a baby and unless Orbea does a major redesign of the Occam I'll probably get another one at some point.

And, SOLD, thank you TGR, glad this steed is going to a mag, it has served me well and I'm hoping it will see many more miles of fun.
