Think I'll put on Late For The Sky
Fucking hell, I fear/hate going online only to read that another one of the greats have moved on.
RIP DL, I appreciated the music. You always looked like you were enjoying yourself as much as we were.
El Rayo Ex is no more.
RIP
Ah shit, so many great shows at Mishawaka, the Fox, and Soiled Dove. RiP.
[sad emoji] Dude was cool.
One of the best stringed instrument players that so many people heard but also never heard of. RIP.

David Lindley passes at age 78.
Don't let all the polyester fool you. His music was genuine and original. Lindley was a Master with any string instrument. His work with Jackson Browne in the '70s was memorable and legendary. Thanks for all the great vibes and for leaving us with your musical legacy. RIP and make some joyful noise where ever you are.

RIP
Remember after Rayo X blew my mind that he liked Sears silver tone plastic guitars. No snobbery there. True musician.

Lindley, Russ Kunkel, Lee Sklar, Craig Doerge, Kortchmar…hell of a band
Glad I got to see him once, bummed I won't be able to do it again :(
The headline in RS--David Lindley, Multi-Instrumentalist Who Shaped the Sound of Soft Rock, Dead at 78. "Soft rock"? Fuck you Rolling Stone.
"Music" works for me.
I saw him ages ago in a bar near Dallas with an old girlfriend and we danced like crazy people to this guy. Tell me this isn’t rock ‘n’ roll.
There you go. The one time I saw him live he was solo acoustic and didnt play ahything resembling rock hard, soft, or n roll, That's why he was great--he could play anything, even soft rock I suppose, if you only heard him with Jackson Brown.
Here's another version of Mercury Bues by another fine slide player, who is still alive afaik,
Let the bon temps rouler
The after party has just gotten very very greasy. That cover of Mercury Blues is my favorite version.
But probably most widely-recognizable for the falsetto on Jackson Brown's "Stay" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joWeHEOGATg
