As a drummer, this saddens me way more than usual. I loved watching him play, seeing the love he had for his job. I hope this doesn’t end the Foo Fighters, but I’m afraid it does. And this all pales in comparison to the loss felt by his wife and kids. So damn sad.

That said, I think I only know 3 or 4 Foo Fighters songs.

I don’t care how much people call them “dad rock” or other names, these guys had fun. RIP Taylor.
Saw the Foo once at ACL Fest, didn’t know a single tune and was totally impressed. Arena rock band that delivered, started following Taylor’s career a bit after that. Dude brought a lot of positive energy to life, sad news for sure.

His contribution was much more than just being the FF drummer. He started out with Alanis M and was involved in Coheed and Cambria, Eagles of Deathmetal, and other groups. He also seemed to be the go to drummer for those super group performances at award shows and the R&R HOF.

No, certainly it wouldn't have been the weed; it's easier to OD on caffeine than cannabis.
