What to buy? Goode Skis for Touring

I am looking at picking up a pair of Goodes for my B/C ski. I was on a pair of 187cm Seth Pistols last season, and am about 6', 200lbs, and a saggitarius, for reference.

I can get deals on the following two models right now.

Carbon 95 in 172cm (very similar dimensions to my Pistols (95mm at waist)
Carbon 116 in 176cm (116 at waist - see a pattern? :wink: )

I think the 116 is overkill for the CO b/c skiing I am doing, especially for the spring stuff, but I'm afraid the 95s in 172cm won't be enough ski for me.

What should I do???

Share the info where did you find a deal on the Carbon 116?

Get the 95's in at least 182. They are ultra light, so why not ski it longer??

116 only listed as a 183 or 163 - do they make a 176??

I'm 6'4" and 215, and know the 95's in a 172 would not be enough for me.

The 116 in a 183 with a 42m turning radius would be my choice.

F*ck it. I just bought the Carbon 95 in the 172cm. I haven't skied anything this short since I was about 14, but everyone I talk about these skis keeps telling me the 172 will be fine. I know I wanted my pistols to be shorter a number of times in the B/C last season, so these should be extra snappy in comparison, besides, they will be lighter and easier for uphill travel with kick-turns, etc..

I am tempted by the 116, but I know I will be wishing I had a quicker ski most of the time. A 42M turning radius is pretty huge unless I was skiing waist-deep avy-controlled bowls all the time, and that's just not my reality in CO. The 172 actually has the same turning radius as my pistols, so it should ski pretty similar. If it's a no-go, I know I can recoup on ebay.

As far as deals on the 116s, call Goode and get Sean on the line. He is the snow ski guru there (you don't want to end up with a pair of water skis), apparently, and they have a couple pairs of demos and rep returns for sale for about $500-600. Still pretty expensive for used skis, but not $990.
