Rad, good to see!
Pow's great, but...
"Two versions of myself are clashing inside me: one loves this heart project of being able to be the ski racer I always wanted, to compete with my own clothing and ski equipment. Racing for pure joy; collecting moments instead of results. But the racer and fighter that I used to be still exists. I only have to think about the countdown in the start house and my pulse climbs and I feel the adrenaline. So it's both: I'm extremely happy and I'm also really excited.

Hirscher finished the opening run 2.59 off the lead in 46th position in his first slalom race in 2,072 days.
“The first gates I thought that’s going nicely but then it relatively quickly turned into one of the worst slalom runs of my life,” Hirscher said.

Guy also races erzberg every year on his dirtbike. What a badass.
Hirscher out with an acl injury.
That was quick…
What a bummer. Whoa those stressed tendons get brittle with age. Actually glad that it happened in low impact training, rather than full on speed down the steeps
The video of it is a bit wild. You just see his knee buckle slightly, but no crash or angle that would indicate a tearing event that I watched.... but I also tore my ACL without crashing in a weird tip in front of binding in pow scenario.
Shit. I'd been really excited to potentially see him racing at Schladming when I go to the night race this year. Oh well...
Really figured Vonn was the big injury risk coming back, not him.
