Seems like it to me also, based on Wikipedia at least. Also married to the same woman for a long time and apparently raised a kid successfully in Hollywood, which seems to difficult to do.

Laverne and Shirley was okay but it was no Beverly Hillbillies or Green Acres. Or Gilligan or F Troop or Hogan's Heroes for that matter.
