NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Vassar Clements, a fiddle virtuoso and A-list studio musician who played with Paul McCartney and an array of others, died at his home Tuesday after a battle with lung cancer, his daughter said.

don't know much about him except he was on Earl's Breakdown," by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band featuring Clements, Earl Scruggs, Randy Scruggs and Jerry Douglas.
I mean if that line up picks a man his age for a song these days he must have been god like.

He played in "Old And In The Way"..
With Jerry GArcia,David Grisman,John Kahn and Peter Rowan.
