So sad. Was my fav drummer from my fav band.
First show was back in 1078 New Haven CT, for the Hemispheres tour. I was 10. Saw them more than 25 times over the years.
He had a rough go with the loss of his wife and daughter.
RIP

Wow.
He was definitely part of the soundtrack of my life.
RIP. Cancer sucks.
Oof. My world just rocked.
1983 Signals tour for me. Maybe 8 more down the road. 3 in SLC in the last 10 years.
I'm gonna go get baked, turn on some Moving Pictures and CRANK it.
Fuck my good day just faltered.

Rest in Power drum man.
always loved his playing
Saw them a few times, but the one that stands out was for a hot minute in 89-90 my dad was the GM of the Salt place in SLC. So he got tix to everything that came there. I saw the Presto tour 2nd row in front of Alex not long after Graduating High School
Pert was amazing, they closed with Wipeout and I think my jaw may have hit the floor at his drum work. It was concussive that close
First concert I ever saw was rush moving pictures and April wine. ?1981?
Mind blowing for a 13 year old from North Dakota.

Pert wrote the lyrics to a number, maybe even the majority of their songs
and if you want to really hear the difference listen to the debu tLP version of Working man and then the one on all the worlds a stage or here:

As a drummer growing up he was one of my biggest inspirations. The soundtrack to the hill the next few days will be Rush heavy!
Also, you all are old. Lol. But not making it to a Rush show is on the regret list for me to say the least.
😢
Never been a big Rush fan, but the dude could play.
Obligatory:

What a loss.
I highly recommend his book “Ghost Rider”; a fantastic assessment of loss and healing.

What a loss. Was lucky enough to have caught them a few times. Definitely the sound track to many good years of my youth.
RIP.
good suggestion flyover.
What a huge loss. Seen every show since Power Windows. Musically is obvious, but for all reports a major loss of an amazing human. My daughter was to young to bring to their last show in Boston and will never get to experience them live (she loves the music at 11!!) RIP

1978-Hammond Indiana Civic Center, Farewell To Kings Tour.
RIP...Perhaps the GOAT, definitely the best I ever saw.
Fuck .
“Heavy sigh”
RIP Neil, you were a master at the drums and percussion, and your song writing credits speak for themselves. A Rush fan going back to the beginning, their vast catalog meant that there was always something on my playlist. Thank you for your enormous contribution to music in general not to mention your influence on my life. You will be missed but not forgotten.

riding out the days events
Moving Pictures was my first Rush album.
Only saw them on the Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows tours.
Peart is definitely in my Top 6 coolest drummers I have seen live along with Phil Collins, Chester Thompson, Bill Bruford, Jerry Marotta, and Stewart Copeland...
His influence spanned genres, too:
