The morning radio program I'm listening too is talking about it right now.
One of my friends tried it and his "success rate" was nearly 100% by the time the 3rd date rolled around.
My mom gave it a whirl and her current boyfriend is better than any other I can remember in the past.
Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. ;)
I have to agree with 13 on this one!
I spent some time dating online and I had a blast! Not to mention that I did score more than once!
I even dated one girl for 2 years that I met on Match.com
Yes it can be very interesting, one lesson I learned it to always request a picture and then just meet for drinks. That way you can bail out after 1 drink or take it to another bar for more drinks!
So as 13 said "don't knock it untill you have tried it!
My best friend's dad met and ended up marrying a woman he met through a dating service. My friend on the other hand had a horrible experience. The woman was apparently a freak in bed (nothing was taboo or off limits), but the break-up was miserable and very messy.
No I missed it,sounds interesting though.
Ski Monkey and I....
Dantheman and I....
ohhh there's a few others from the chatter-pmag-tgr weddins and pending weddins.
No one claimed that online dating is always a horror show... but when things go wrong, it makes for great TV.
SkiingBear and I....
I just had to join the girls;)
My sister met and married some geek online. Think of it, you could end up with me as an in-law.
My roomate does the internet dating thing all the time. He has girlfriends in three different cities now. I guess it's a great way to cheat for travelling businessmen and the like. if you're into that kinda shit.
I tried it for 2 weeks when I first moved to Seattle. I went on alot of dates, ended up dating one guy for about a month. He was a total pretty boy (yeah, don't even ask me how that one happened), didn't ski or do anything REMOTELY cool...and he was AWFUL in bed.
But I also know people who have really enjoyed the experience, especially my friends who are more reserved OR who work alot and don't really get out much. I think online dating is just a sign of the times- we are all really busy and restricted in our social groups (how sad is that?)
I met my girlfriend on Lavalife.com. We have been together for 1.5 years. Our first date was skiing. Previous to meeting her I had a few hookups with other chicks. Depending on what your looking for you can find a relationship or just hook ups.
It's only cheating if you are trying to hide the fact that you are dating other women. Just ask Hugh Hefner.Quote:

My half-sister did the online hookup thing. Ended up with a total loser. No job, no money, porn freak, gun freak, credit card freak, cheating, lying, etc. The final straw was when she caught him boinking his girlfriend on the side of the last two years - again. Within 24 hours she had him cut off from his cell phone, off the lease, without a car, and all his belongings on the curb. Homeless and penniless in Phoenix in the summer, just what he deserves.
She's back online looking again "because it's fun." Sigh.
3 years ago, I met my beautiful wife of 11 months now on match.com, so you can definately say I think internet dating is a good thing :D
I've been tempted to try it. A guy in our office has been online dating for about 8 months now and he's had shitty luck ... nothing but psycho chic's. So the jury is still out on this one.
I met my wife in the traditional way - in a bar full of slurring, dribbling halfwits.
and she found the only dribbling slurring quarterwit? Fucking Piss Poor!
I've used and use them a lot. Why not? You get more info in one page than you will get in a month of dating. And both of you are sober.
I'm curious about a certain phenomenon on these sites - the serial dater. There are certain women who are always active, and this goes on for months and then years, but never seem to find Mr. Perfecto. Are they paid by the services as bait? Or just love to e-mail people without physical contact?
hey hey hey
Lemon you trying to take over the board?
