Fabric glue

A fabric glued pocket on my Northface shorts is starting to peel:

I don’t feel like sending them back etc., I just want the pocket back. What should I use, this stuff?:

use seam sealer.

I fixed those by sewing and, where applicable, seam seal over the stitching

My mom fixed a vest for me once with some kind of glue and then she glued a patch over her repair. That repair has lasted over 20 years. The patch is a backpacking alligator but I don't think the species makes any difference.

Seam grip. Be careful.

Fabric fusion is good, will eventually fail though

seam seal/seam grip/shoo goo its ALL liquid ureathane in various consistanceies

I use a lot of Aqua Seal (AQS) in my part time gig as a drysuit tech and we never sew anything

I would use a little masking tape wherever you don't want the glue (so on the all the material we can see) and then slide a little glue into the seam, put some tape over the joint and put something heavy on top

most people don't have enough use for the stuff so the tube drys out before you can use it all but if you put it in jar inside your freezer it will last longer, when you need to use just thaw it in a cup of boiling water for 15min

there are all kinds of hits on using AQS but I would say be careful to not to use too much

+1 for aqua seal and masking tape to keep it tiddy (and putting it in the freezer)

In my experience, XXX-er's tips are spot on.

Seam seal worked great. I put foil on both sides and put weights on it. Better than the original areas.

glad it worked, everyone reading this forum should have a tube of liquid ureathane on the go for outdoor gear repairs

here is the latest repair on a seat that worked out really well

That had been a hole with a flapping piece of naugahyde, so I colored the white foam underneath with a black sharpie , dabbed in a little AQS, taped a small piece of plastic bag tightly over the AQS and let it cure, the plastic bag peeled off easily and left a slick-finished fix
