Simple irrigation question...

I'm moving this spigot to the other side of the fence. Any tips? I suppose I just have to keep it level so water doesn't pool up in one spot and freeze/burst. I need to use Flexpipe from the PVC pipe going to the bottom of the spigot to the new location, because it's not a straight line. Then some Clear PVC/Flex Pipe Glue to combine the two. All sound good?

My main question though is that metal pipe near it for venting or for stabilization so you don't break off the spigot while mowing the lawn? My guess is to stabilize, but I don't know shit about irrigation. My plan is to cut the pipe 6" under the ground level and bury it, it's in so deep and I don't see the point of taking it fully out. it's not attached to the water pipe going to the spigot, that's all I know.

Not a vent, just a marker. Pull it, pound it, or cut it.

Don't forget primer before gluing. A little fine sandpaper rough up might do the trick if you don't have.

What keeps it from freezing as is?

Sure isn't what most have for freeze proof yard faucets.

Poly (PE) pipe. But depends on the market, some places mainly do PVC. Coming from a pvc market, poly is so much easier, but still use pvc for constant pressure apps.

Just spent a half hour stabbing the front lawn to find the stop and waste valve that is overgrown so I can turn off the water. What fun! And I didn't find it.

One important tip I learned is you can't un-do bonded PVC pipes.

I thought this thread was going to be about something entirely different.
