Any drummers out there?
Or maybe you're not a drummer but perhaps you can help. If you're in a band without a drummer and you're looking to record some tunes, would you hire a drummer over the Internet? I mean, would you send pre-recorded tunes to the drummer and have the dude record his drum tracks on his own and then send you the completed song?
I'm just curious if there's a demand for this kind of thing. Or maybe there is and always has been and I'm just way behind the times.

In my studio experience, drums & bass are recorded first, then gtr's & vocals..etc.I guess if the other cats are comfortable playing to a click track it's alright. It's hard to sync up your fills with what they play if they aren't there playing with you on the scratch tracks.

Personally, I would much rather have them there with the rest of the band. That way they know EXACTLY what you want, and there is no confusion on anything. If I'm going to be paying someone I want it done right.

Drummers are always crazy.

I've yet to find a musican who would do something like this. The people I've played with seem to fall into two categories. There is the type of person who puts a drumtrack in a song and they want you to duplicate it exactly. The other type is more collabrative and they want you in the same practice space to bounce ideas around with and hear them to find what sounds best.
