But, equally, I like taking something old and making it new again. The combatting of entropy. But in the end, entropy always wins.

Yeah, the pool and taller rectangular building look like Grossinger's. Cool video. The abandonment of once-flourishing property is fascinating.
For me the reason why this one is different or cool is how much attention the photographer took to getting the exact location of the point of view the same.

Yup.
It's also how high the camera was, and most importantly, what mm lens they used. The dissolves help hide the discrepancies, and I'm sure the photographer distorted/stretched the new pics to match the old ones. I don't think any got down to the exact inch like you said, but whoever did this, did a great job.
