Just talked to my girlfriend in Oregon and she said she didn't feel it in Bend. 7.0 is a decent sized one too.
shit.... the cabin I've stayed in at the redwoods will be gone. (right on a small cliff overlooking beach.) It's fifty years old. Big Lagoon.
Whoaaaaa - first there's the 5.2 in Anza (south end of the state)...now this 7 point whatever at the northern end of California.... is the middle next???
I wonder since I've got to go by Parkfield and Kettleman City in the morning.
"Hi honey - could you call Triple A - seems I gotten stuck in the San Andreas Fault"
just read that it has been downgraded to a bulliten, and that a tsunami is unlikely.
where are folks getting this info? I didnt feel it in Bend.
phew

I think the world is trying to tell us something.... Earthquakes in the west, tornadoes in the midwest and nasty heat in the east. I think I'm going to move underground.
Well, shit...I'm watching Blow Out....and a Tsunami Warning is issued, WTF?
Pretty cool, hope its nothing
I'm going to see if I can see waves coming under the Bridge....later, I'll report if I see anything.

Good thing that was a strike slip (horizontal movement) instead of a thrust (vertical movement, like in Indonesia 12/26/04) earthquake or the west coast would be f-u-c-k-e-d).
What should prove interesting is whether the loading of surrounding parts of the plate and subduction zone cause further earthquakes elsewhere in CA....
3 large movements on the pacific rim in under a week....Quote:

Wow, that's kinda crazy. I was on the OR coast all day today for the first time in months. I was walking on the beach in area that if you didn't know a tsumnami was coming you'd be fucked. Glad TGR is here for me to get all my urgent news
One of the few times I'm not so psyched to live to close to the ocean.
Glad to hear the warning got downgraded....
